Creative & Wellbeing Teaching Spaces

I’m an advocate of gentle creative play for wellbeing, for children, teens and adults alike. It provides a stress-free therapeutic space, helps support the imagination and holistic well-being of each participant. I have worked with creativity and health projects for children of various ages, parent and child groups, and adult groups.

I’m passionate about letting children be children, especially in a world of increasing stresses, and have a particular interest with children’s well-being, facilitating that which supports children’s whole health care, their sensitivity, empowerment and natural abilities. I am also currently creating a children's book more can be found here.

Mindfulness Art & Therapeutic Creative Play

About:
I offer Mindfulness Art & Creative Play sessions for young people and children, one-to-one and within a group or class. The creative spaces provide a time for each participant to be authentic, freely express themselves, whilst helping introduce new wellbeing patterns in the persons thoughts, feelings and experiences, supporting whole-health care. I use both non-directive techniques alongside offering inspiring creative play teachings, guided visualisations, mindfulness and sound. I focus on empowering each participant, treating each person's process gently and with integrity. I work with adults, children, and parent and child groups.

Example group session:
Creative Play Sessions

This is a combination of a sound journey, guided visualisation, and expressive creative play. Sound is a wonderful form to stimulate healthy brain function, physiology and cellular repair, this has a very positive effect on emotional health and general well-being. It's a non-invasive therapy and the sound goes where it needs within the person to heal and stimulate good health. In this session I provide a Gentle Sound Journey with a guided colour-bubble visualisation.

We then move into expressive creative playtime, using a large piece of paper, collectively we create our individual responses using colour and inspiring materials, focusing on play and experimentation. This form of expressive play stimulates and supports holistic health components, enabling more joyful experiences to come through at the participants own pace. This helps retrain the brain and body responses away from unhelpful patterns, akin to mindfulness, and creates new positive, enjoyable experiences. To note this not an art class and no emphasis is given to creating a finished piece, this allows the participant to express sensitivities, emotions, thoughts freely without pressure. They create what they want, in their own way. Emphasis is given towards developing self-kindness. It additionally helps empower the participant to be led by their own inner wisdom and in turn supports self-esteem and natural gifts.

Duration: 2-3 hour session minimum, can be made longer, spread over a good number of weekly sessions. This enables participants to build a sense of trust in the sessions, their environment and process, and fosters longer term sustained health.

Group type: This can be facilitated as a one-to-one or group session,
parent and child group, and as children's only group within schools / children's welfare organisations.

If you are interested in having the play sessions at your school, centre or organisation please contact me, I welcome your enquiry:
